We are seeking a full time Farm Staff member for the 2019 growing season (April through November). Farm Staff will assist with many aspects of vegetable and flower production on the farm throughout the growing season. In the early season, focus will be on starting seeds in the greenhouse and field preparation. As summer arrives, time will be largely spent on planting, followed by crop maintenance tasks such as weeding, trellising, and pruning. Late summer is consumed with harvest, and the season concludes with clean up and preparing the farm to rest through the winter months.

 

Attention to detail is the most important qualification for this position. An interest in learning the many varied tasks that go into vegetable and flower production and a drive to work hard are also crucial. Experience on other vegetable or flower farms is a plus, but not required. Our schedule is often subject to weather conditions, so a willingness to be flexible and to work outdoors under varied conditions is expected. Early morning and/or evening availability is a plus.

 

Anticipated work hours are:

April: 10-20 hours per week

May-June: 32 hours per week, Tuesday through Friday

July-November: 40 hours per week, Tuesday through Saturday

December: As needed

 

Pay is $11.50 per hour, plus all the fresh produce you can eat.
