Come spend a beautiful summer with us on Martha’s Vineyard.  We are a private beach club located on Chappaquiddick Island open June 21,2019-September 2,2019. We are part of the island of Martha’s Vineyard, near the town of Edgartown, off of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.  Our club provides a snack bar making delicious made to order lunches. 

Run the grill line during service, keep the kitchen manager aware of any issues, ensure the highest level of food safety and maintain a positive and safe workspace for all.

Reports to: Kitchen Manager and Club Manager

Essential Functions:

• Oversee kitchen employees in Kitchen Manager’s absence
• Supervise, coach and develop staff while enforcing club policies and procedures
• Oversee and assist in the daily preparation of food-in accordance to recipes and food health codes
• Keep an inventory of foods that need to be ordered
• Keep good communication with the Kitchen Manager
• Maintain a fun, positive, safe working environment
• Any other tasks as assigned by Kitchen Manager

Qualifications:

• 2+ years working in a commercial kitchen
• ServSafe food handlers permit or equivalent
• Good organization and knife skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands in a fast paced, high stress environment
• Well developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle difficult situations positively and with a smile
• Upbeat attitude and a willingness to learn
• High attention to detail

Essential Physical Functions:

• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
• Able to work standing on a hard surface for a 6 hour shift
• Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, walking and crouching
• Manual dexterity including simple grip with knives, tongs, spatulas and such

Compensation:

This is a seasonal paid position: Hourly $15/hr plus on-site housing provided with private bedroom and shared kitchen/bath
