California Olive Ranch & Lucini Italia, leading brands of extra virgin olive oil, are looking for a full-time Channel Marketing Specialits to join our marketing team. The Channel Marketing Specialist reports to the Marketing Chief of Staff and will play a critical role in the creation and execution of our Sales & Marketing team's growth. Responsibilities include developing, optimizing and monitoring projects that support multiple channels of sales.
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic marketer who demonstrates a “get it done” attitude and has the self-initiative to drive marketing and communications strategy, tactics, and execution across audiences and channels. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling and able to demonstrate a high level of competence in delivering that content across print, email, PowerPoint, etc., is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about California Olive Ranch’s mission to improve the olive oil industry.
This is a full-time, salaried position in our Berkeley office.
- Responsible for creating the design, content and messaging of marketing assets while understanding and holding the standard and integrity of the brands
- Assist with market research to determine target shopper/consumer/buyers for each sales channel
- Participate in the New Products Innovation process by working with private label clients, assist labeling approval process for new and existing PL products; branded labels, work with Marketing Managers on minor label edits, regulatory requirements
- Working cross-functionally with New Products Innovation, biz dev team, sales, develop compelling sales presentations for new product launches, sales bidding
- Provide support for Sales teams across channels (retail, foodservice, bulk, ecommerce)
- Working with data analytics team and sales, to assist in the development of sales presentations, relevant collateral, sell sheets, training materials, broker monthly updates, and other sales educational materials
- Manage retail partner marketing campaigns, in-store displays, reporting KPIs for sales lift
- Manage retail coupon programming on behalf of retail sales and marketing, including placement, activation, followed by redemption reporting
- Assist our business development team with updating messaging and imagery on customer portals
- Develop marketing materials tailored to the Foodservice channel
- Assist with the growth of our e-commerce channels by managing the transition of new and discontinued products and general account maintenance
- Assist with tracking key metrics for each channel such as new distribution, new product penetration
- Coordinate with sales team on key presentations, including travel to attend meetings with key accounts to represent marketing messaging and essential product information
- Create company newsletters for our sales team to share with broker and buyers
- We have several trade shows a year where you may be asked to assist in preparation with Events Manager and attend along with the sales and marketing teams
- Interface with vendors such as graphic designers, printers, and other third-party contractors
- Customer Service support (FAQs, timely responses, etc.)
- Assist with other marketing projects as needed
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to speak in a brands voice and provide excellent customer service
- Is resourceful and creative when it comes to developing content from limited assets
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently

- 1 to 3 years of relevant marketing experience
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
- Experience in consumer packaged goods
- E-commerce experience a plus
- Customer Service experience a plus
- Experience with Google Applications, Microsoft Office Suite, Wordpress and Adobe required
