We are The Philosopher’s Stoneground, makers of some of the most delicious,
nutritious, ethical, and ecological nut butters on the market, based in Santa Cruz, California. We are promoting the flourishing of all Life through the cultivation, production, distribution, and consumption of our nut butters!

We sell thousands of jars of premium quality nut butter per month nationwide to our dedicated, enthusiastic, and ever-expanding fan base. We value organic and fair trade ingredients, regenerative business practices, livable wages, fun in the workplace, and meaningful relationships with our staff, vendors, and customers. We will have been in business for six years this Earth Day.

We are seeking a values-aligned business partner with a desire to create and
implement a brilliant model of a holistically regenerative consumer packaged goods (CPG) business that can be scaled and replicated. We are also open to finding a long term investing or operating partner(s), or selling the business to the right buyer(s). 

You want to benefit all Life through business, and you have the analytical mind needed to make that lofty vision an operational reality through our CPG company.
 

You will work closely with our CEO to make this happen. You will design and implement company-wide systems that are easy to follow. Team building, business management, capacity planning, product development, and growth strategizing are all in your toolbelt. You have both an intuitive and analytical understanding of unit cost economics and can use this to deftly make strategic decisions such as channel selection or marketing strategy.

Basic Requirements:

● Passion about food, health, nutrition, agroecology, and/or ecology
● Fluency with Quickbooks Online, Google Suite, and project management tools like Slack or Monday
● Willing and able to co-create and implement a strong business plan to take our CPG business to the next level in the most lean and profitable way
● Significant financial capacity – the ability to bring a rigorous financial mind to the business, analyze projections, and boost performance with CEO and CFO

 Extra Credit:

● Previous experience with CPG companies or in the food industry
● MBA background or experienced C-level business skillset as CEO, COO, CFO,
CMO, or similar
● Ability to commute to our Santa Cruz office - nice, but not needed
