  • Location Longmont, CO
  • Category Agriculture / Production

Company description

McCauley Family Farm, a Certified Organic farm nestled in the Foothills of Boulder County, is dedicated to creating community through food. Along with the high mountain snowmelt that irrigates the fields through historic canals, the people that contribute to the farm—staff, volunteers, interns, friends, family, neighbors, and customers—are its lifeblood.

We farm on 40 acres and are passionate about regenerative farming and taking care of the land.

Internship description

This is a full one-year commitment for folks who are aspiring farmers. On-farm housing is provided.

McCauley Family Farm is hiring apprentices to learn, work, and live at our 40-acre regenerative farm. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) animal husbandry, planting, weeding and harvesting organic produce, maintaining pastures, seed-saving, working at the farmer’s markets, selling pasture-raised chicken, and maintaining fences and ditch systems. You will have the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the systems at work in a regenerative farm while learning about agroecology, holistic pasture management, ecological design, bioregional food systems and what it means to be a steward and a part of a land-based community. We’re looking for someone who can wear many hats, enjoys wearing many hats, is thirsty for success, is passionate about bioregional food production, and is self-motivated with a big heart.

McCauley Family Farm is a young farm dedicated to sustainable and regenerative farming practices. From our pepper operation and collaborative relationships with neighboring organic farms, we’re proud to have a fast-growing line of organic food brands underneath us. We have a name in the game for local, pasture-raised chicken, organic eggs, and some of the best pickles, fermented vegetables, and hot sauce in town.

We value a nice work-life balance, but we want someone who doesn't shy from long weeks as needed while encompassing grit, grace, and a now-or-never attitude.

This is a chance to support local farming and make a big impression with a farm and regenerative operation.

Our farm is located in Longmont, about 15 minutes from Pearl Street in Boulder.
