Company description We are a locally owned wholesale production bakery located in the Greater Portland area. The range of breads we make is pretty broad, everything from German style pumpernickel to Brioche rolls and Baguettes. We use our beloved sixteen year old sourdough starter in our traditional boules and bagels. Most are shaped by hand and baked in deck ovens. Job description Our bakery is looking for a talented bread maker to join our team. Experience is ideal, but we are open to training the right person who is not only willing to learn, but genuinely interested in the craft. 

Our workload is based on the restaurants we provide for, and due to this it is very seasonal. While the pace can slow down considerably in the winter, during the busy Summer months the shifts can be a grind. Please be capable of working quickly and efficiently in a hot bakery full of flour. We produce a very high volume considering the small size of our staff, so cooperation and teamwork is key. Reliability is also extremely important. Having your own transportation and the ability to show up on time is expected. 

Unlike most bakeries we do our baking the night before for morning deliveries. That means no crazy early morning shifts! Some weekend and evening hours are required. Please be able to commit to at least six months. Pay is based on experience, frequently reviewed, and increased on merit. Benefits like contribution to healthcare and IRA available after 90 days.
