Georgia Organics is a dynamic and growing statewide nonprofit connecting organic food from Georgia farms to Georgia families.  Founded in 1997, the organization is based in Atlanta and led by a board of directors, staff of 14 employees and additional support from consultants, interns, members and volunteers.  Georgia Organics has three primary goals to:

  • Increase the number of organic and sustainable farmers in rural and urban areas
  • Increase the number of children participating in farm to school programs
  • Increase the number of Georgians eating organically grown, local food
Job description Interns are an integral part of the Georgia Organics Farm to School team. Interns assist us in providing support and technical assistance to early care providers, k-12 educators and administrators, community partners, and government agencies through the Golden Radish Award Program, October Farm to School Month Campaign, farm to school workshops, and communications. The internship will be based in our Atlanta office with work space available. Duties may include:

• Developing and testing activities for the October Farm to School Month Campaign
• Assisting with the application review process for the Golden Radish Awards
• Assisting with planning the Golden Radish Award Ceremony, the Annual Georgia Organics Conference, the Georgia Farm to School Summit, and other events
• Developing and updating promotional and outreach materials
• Compiling and organizing data and performing basic data analysis
• Maintaining our supply closet and packing for workshops and events
• Drafting resources for workshops, trainings, and other speaking engagements
• Acting as a Georgia Organics representative at events
• Supporting farm to school communications, including writing blog articles, supporting e-newsletter content, updating our farm to school website, and social media
• Basic administrative support
• Other duties, as needed.

Preferred Skills:
• Strong writing and speaking skills
• Interest and experience in marketing and communications (social media platforms)
• Ability to work in a team environment and work independently to meet deadlines Compensation this position is : hourly, $15/hr + Application instructions
