Cheese purchasing is the ultimate combination of left and right brain personalities. It is both an art and a science.

The World’s Best Cheeses is looking for a very unique individual to join our team as our Domestic Purchaser for our West Coast division.

The ideal candidate will have a solid computational background. Proficiency in excel and forecasting are essential. There is more to this job than just predicting the movement of boxes. Each cheese has it’s own personality, seasonality, and ability to change as it ages. All of these will factor into the numerous decisions that you make on a daily basis.

Duties include:

-Placing purchase orders for our 30+ local vendors and managing the weekly inventory transfers of over 1000 cheeses, crackers and oils from our east coast office.

-Sourcing new product at tradeshows, farms, and anywhere delicious products are found. Some travel will be required.

-Assisting our sales team with weekly orders

-Working closely with our General Manager and Operations Manager to insure our current inventory is in good shape
