Vice President of Sales

JOB DESCRIPTION

The West Coast Sales and Exporting Director is an exempt role that will be focused on building and maintaining a highly motivated and results driven sales department while supporting clients. They will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the business in the applicable markets in conjunction with the sales team and business development resources.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies for the West Coast and Exporting market place
  • Lead West Coast sales team members (including Brokers) to achieve sales targets
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
  • Negotiate and close agreements with large customers
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the account managers in your region.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts to report to the VP of Sales
  • Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities
  • Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with clients’ needs
  • Liaise with Marketing and Operations departments to ensure brand consistency
  • Keep abreast of new product launches and ensure sales team members are on board
  • Create and implement strategic sales and marketing plans that successfully achieve business objectives
  • Monitor competitors’ products, including relevant sales and marketing data
  • Develop an operating budget for the sales division that meets business goals
  • Use available data to accurately forecast sales and set appropriate performance goals
  • Complete market research and analyze results to adjust sales and marketing strategy for maximum success
  • Weekly meetings with VP of Sales
  •  Monthly Budget meetings
  • Identify Exporting opportunities and establish Forecasting and Budget reports to achieve goals
  • Mange the WUSATA Fund matching program

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Amazing Customer Service
  • Previous working experience as a National Sales Manager with a minimum of five years’ experience in leading a sales team
  • BSc in Sales, Business Administration or similar relevant field
  • 5 years of Specialty Food Industry experience.
  • In depth knowledge of managing a high-performance sales team
  • Hands on experience with CRM software 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook 365
  • Applicable experience of sales performance metrics
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Customer oriented with strong negotiation skills
  • Analytical and data driven problem solver
  • Negotiation skills to create the most profitable deals
  • Business acumen to determine and enforce beneficial strategies to run the sales team
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key clients, including negotiating and closing on major contracts
  • Previous experience with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed targets
  • May require travel 50% of the time
