JOB DESCRIPTION: We are looking for several fun folks with an affinity for local foods and cafe culture to represent One Stripe Chai at various markets in the Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA area. Markets can range from in-store demos to full day outdoor farmer’s markets sharing chai and our story. We have an awesome market season planned this year and would love to have you be a part of it!

 

What we need from you:  

• A love of chai!  
• Must be responsible, reliable, and trustworthy
• Enjoy engaging with customers
• Excellent presentation skills and an eye for detail
• Excellent face-to-face customer service and communication skills
• Listening to customers and reporting feedback to management
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• Ensuring adherence to standards and food safety regulations at each market
• Must have own reliable transportation (need to transport product, market kit, and 10x10 tent)
• Must have or be willing to get an Oregon Food Handler Certificate
• Experience in event marketing, demonstrations, or sales desirable but not mandatory
• Willingness to learn about our product and company

 

Duties include:  

• Setting up and breaking down work area within a store, market, or indoor event space — table, banner, tent, product, etc.
• Sampling and selling One Stripe Chai to potential customers
• Effectively interfacing and communicating with store personnel, event staff, and customers
• Handling cash and credit card transactions efficiently and accurately
• Reporting sales, inventory, and demo log in a timely manner
• Job involves lifting up to 30 pounds and standing for four to eight hours

Settings include:

• Demonstrations in New Seasons Market, Market of Choice, and other specialty markets in the Portland and surrounding area.
• Farmers Markets, typically held Saturdays and Sundays, March – December
• We are looking for people willing to work mostly weekends and weeknights with a flexible schedule
