Company description The World Fellowship Center is one-of-a-kind, an educational family camp and retreat center promoting peace and social justice, set in the spectacular natural beauty of New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Since 1941, World Fellowship has been a “progressive oasis”, a multi-generational vacation destination offering regeneration of mind, body and spirit beside a pristine woodland lake in the shadow of Mount Chocorua. We serve three healthy meals a day to up to 150 guests and 35 staff, incorporating produce from our organic vegetable gardens. Job description The Head Cook is responsible for all aspects of meal planning and preparation for three family style meals a day for up to 150 guests and 35 staff, from mid June to early September (the dates are somewhat negotiable).

Responsibilities Include
  • Ordering, maintaining an appropriate inventory of food and supplies, and using resources effectively and economically.
  • The Head Cook is also responsible for the cleanliness and order of the kitchen and kitchen equipment, as well as assuring safe and appropriate storage of food, and compliance with state health regulations.
  • Training and supervising the assistant cooks and other kitchen staff, who assist with food preparation, serving, and kitchen cleanup.
  • Scheduling kitchen staff, making sure that staff keep to the hours scheduled, and assuring compliance with all state regulations relating to labor and safety.
  • Communicates with the head farmer to efficiently make use of the produce from our organic vegetable gardens.
     
Head Cook Qualifications Include
  • Experience as cook and/or assistant cook
  • Desire and ability to work in a camp setting
  • Supervisory skills
  • Training and experience in cooking for large groups
  • Ability to prepare both nutritious vegetarian offerings and meat dishes
  • Knowledge of standards of food preparation and serving and kitchen procedures
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Current tuberculosis test
Compensation includes room and board and $550 to $650 per week, depending on experience. Compensation this position is : contract Work visa This employer is willing to sponsor a work visa for international applicants Application instructions
