Company description Grateful Pastures is a small regenerative farm focusing on pasture-raised chicken for meat and eggs.  We believe in being good to the land and our animals. We strive to provide healthy food for people in an environmentally friendly way.  This year we will become the 1st and only Certified Organic pastured poultry farm in Georgia. Also in 2019 we will begin growing Certified Organic vegetables as well. 

We sell all of our products at Atlanta area farmer’s markets and to Atlanta restaurants. We currently operate farmer’s market booths at Freedom Farmer’s Market, Morningside Farmer’s Market, Peachtree Rd Farmer’s Market, and Grant Park Farmer’s Market.

Farm Crew Members will work Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (2 to 5 hrs per day, depending upon season). Roles include:

• Morning chicken chores (moving shelters, feeding, watering, raking brooder bedding, gathering eggs, record keeping)
• On-going farm improvements (building shelters, building hoop houses, planting trees, etc)
• Brooder cleanout
• Vegetable harvesting, washing, and packing
• Frozen meat inventory management
• Egg washing
• Other duties as assigned

Pay will start at $10/hr, with opportunity for a raise to $11/hr after 3 months.

Requirements:

• Reliability
• Promptness
• Ability to learn quickly 
• High level of interest in environmental sustainability.
• Ability to carry at least 50 lbs. 
• Positive attitude, especially when dealing with customers.
• Driver's license.

Desired, but not required:

• Experience in some aspect of the good food movement (farm, restaurant, farmer's market, etc)
• Experience driving tractor
• Dream of eventually owning and operating a sustainable farm
