Company description The Putney School, a co-educational boarding school located on a 500 acre working dairy farm in Southern Vermont, has a Summer Program for high school students who are interested in learning to work on a farm. The Putney School is an independent boarding school dedicated to progressive education for a sustainable future and was founded in 1935. The school's studios and dormitories together with the working dairy and vegetable farm serve over 200 students enrolled in the school's Summer Programs each summer. Job description

Experience educator to lead two 3-week Farm Workshops for twelve students, meeting daily for AM barn chores and milking and a three hour workshop class 9-noon, Monday – Friday for six weeks.

Teach teens the basics of small scale farming through hands-on learning. Work with animals and in the fields to develop a practical sense of skills used on the farm. There is flexibility in the overall content of the workshop.  The right applicant will be able to craft a workshop that is engaging and ideal for sharing their passion for farming with students.

Four day orientation prior to the start of the program. Dates of employment: Wednesday, June 19 – Saturday, August 3, 2019. Compensation: $3,100, room and board provided.
