Job description

About the role:

‘Nurture the next crop’ is one of the core values at Dig Inn. We believe that strong teams are built upon excellent training and development. The Field Training Associate will focus on providing our restaurants with operating standards and technical culinary instructions. You will be responsible for focusing on restaurant growth, development, enhanced learning, and improving performance especially with our hourly team members, also known as Chef in Training (CIT). The Field Training Associate will be the leader in implementing and facilitating a wide-range of training activities focused on elevating the knowledge and skills of our CITs throughout our kitchens. You will work collaboratively with the Head of Restaurant Training, Culinary Director, and Field Leaders.

You will:

  • Serve as an in-Restaurant subject matter expert for training related questions and needs.
  • Ensure the highest levels of training standards are upheld at all Dig Inn Restaurants and be the standard bearer for our CITs.
  • Increase retention level of new hires by providing constructive training to minimize performance issues.
  • Support new restaurant openings in existing and future markets by training CITs during pre-opening and post-opening.
  • Create scalable systems and training processes to support new restaurant openings, seasonal menu rollouts, and other training initiatives.
  • Lead the execution and adoption of training programs in the field which includes train the trainer and classroom modules.
  • Project manage, facilitate and evolve our CIT orientation and onboarding.
  • Work with restaurant leaders to identify training needs and gaps for each restaurant.
  • Create and maintain feedback loops to validate training and development in the field.

You are:

  • Experienced in field training within the retail or hospitality space.
  • Comfortable leading and inspiring a diverse group of people.
  • Communicative and have great interpersonal skills to get ideas across with various groups throughout the organization.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and motivated to drive results in a fast-paced environment where change is a constant.
  • Experienced in fostering organizational change through change management.
  • Able to respond to routine multi-tasking as well as complex, unplanned issues while adhering to aggressive deadlines for multiple initiatives.
  • Passionate about all things food.
