Celestine opened in October 2017 on the DUMBO waterfront, just under the Manhattan Bridge. We were voted Dumbo's Best Restaurant by New York Magazine. First and foremost, we’re a neighborhood restaurant, and our emphasis is on creating an environment in which all feel welcome and taken care of - both the guests who dine with us and the staff who work within our walls.
Our kitchen, led by Executive Chef Garett McMahan, serves seasonal, soulful fare that draws inspiration from Northern Africa, the Mediterranean coastline, and the Middle East. Chef Garett emphasizes creativity and encourages his team to actively contribute to the menu. We also have a robust pastry program, which includes making our own flatbread in-house.
Job description We are seeking career-minded, talented, and experienced staff to join our tight-knit back of house team. The demands of our kitchen environment are underpinned by a shared sense of teamwork and pride in our product. We are a like-minded crew with an emphasis on excellence and creativity.Both AM and PM shifts are available immediately, with 40-45 hours a week guaranteed.
Required skills:
- 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen within a similar role
