Commercial CDL B Driver (Dump Truck)

Responsibilities

The Commercial Driver (AKA Route Wrangler) is responsible for servicing our various commercial members (restaurants, offices, etc.) collecting roll carts with compostable material inside (35 and 65 gallon carts) and relining carts with compostable bags. The driver will be responsible for maneuvering their designated route, documenting details of individuals stops (logging route data) and handling the collection process.

At basic, servicing a commercial stop involves:

- managing member stops through our Route Wrangler Dashboard (Driver Dashboard on iPad)

- collecting roll carts full of compostable material, weighing and recording collected cart

- emptying all collection receptacles and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris

- delivering compostable products to commercial accounts (when necessary)

-operating collection vehicle and delivery van in accordance with CompostNow Safety Rules, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state and federal laws

About You

- CDL B or higher required with Airbrake Endorsement

- Clean driving record and comfortable maneuvering large vehicle, even in tight downtown areas

- 2 Years Experience with CDL vehicles REQUIRED (we currently operate a K470 modified dump truck)

- Pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and criminal background check

- Love of exceptional customer service, and a natural sense of hustle

- Strong desire to work with your head AND your hands

- Must be able to lift 50 pounds above your head

- Detail oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, multitask and react quickly to changing conditions

- Willing and able to work outdoors in all elements (rain, heat, cold, etc.)

- Committed to communicating regularly and constructively with team members

- Early riser, route starts at 2:30 AM most days for a 10 hour shift

- Willing to work Monday-Saturday

- Responsible individual, comfortable working with relative autonomy and minimal oversight

- Previous experience with Trash / Recycling collection is a plus
