Job Title: Social Media Coordinator, seasonal position with
potential for permanent employment
Reports to: Social Media Manager, General Manager, CEO and Tour Manager when traveling with OITF
Purpose:
As Social Media Coordinator you will create original content to share across multiple platforms to present a visually striking and engaging brand image. You will manage customer messaging and real-time posting, engage an already expansive social audience with rich storytelling and imagery, present a consistent voice and aesthetic, and use social platforms to educate about the OITF story and mission. You will travel with the OITF crew assisting when needed but focusing entirely on the brand’s online media. You will report to and work with the Social Media Manager to execute brand goals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Execution of Social Media Strategy
- 24/7 social media management
- Posting and management of social media channels: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest
- Use account metrics to optimize impact (e.g. posting times, audience demographics, response to posts)
- Manage a posting calendar for social media posts
- Consistent Instagram “stories” that are curated and in depth and tell a rich story including live coverage of events
- Consistent updates and management of all platforms
- Respond to comments and guest inquiries and direct them to appropriate channels in a timely manner
- Execute a calendar of scheduled content with our consistent OITF style
- Track audience engagement to support growth plan for maximized impact
- Create original event-based real time photography and content
- Conduct regular meetings with Manager and CEO to check in on plan execution and brand style
Attend Public Events
- Document events primarily through photography
- Interview chefs and farmers to gather social media content
- In touch with OITF team and managers through regular emailing
Private Events
- Assist with a limited number of Outstanding in the Field private events as needed.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of social media platforms
- Strong photography skills
- A working knowledge of phone-based editing apps
- Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
- Ability to keep a “pulse” on current trends within the relevant food and event worlds
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, potentially high-stress environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility, understanding and tolerance to work, live and travel with the OITF Tour Crew
Physical Job requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Exposure to moderate to extreme weather including wind, rain, insects, dust
- Walking on uneven terrain including hilly areas, sand, rocks
- You will be on your feet for over 8 hours including walking moderate distances setup and breakdown that includes lifting and carrying up to 50 lb
Work Environment
- Traveling, on the road, living accommodations and travel stipend is provided.
- OITF does not operate on a M-F schedule so working within the brand’s schedule to facilitate stronger content is necessary.
- Travel schedule is rigorous.
- Expected to return to the Bay Area at the end of tour to debrief with CEO and General Manager
