McCauley Family Farm, a Certified Organic farm nestled in the Foothills of Boulder County, is dedicated to creating community through food. Along with the high mountain snowmelt that irrigates the fields through historic canals, the people that contribute to the farm—staff, volunteers, interns, friends, family, neighbors, and customers—are its lifeblood.
We farm on 40 acres and are passionate about regenerative farming and taking care of the land.
Internship descriptionMcCauley Family Farm is hiring apprentices to learn, work, and live at our 40-acre regenerative farm. Your primary responsibility will be holistic pasture management by way of animal stewardship. Our animals are integrated into our farm and regenerate the landscape. Additionally, they provide the highest quality meats (pork, lamb, chicken) that nourish our community. Prior experience with animal husbandry is a must. Secondary responsibilities include (but are not limited to): animal husbandry, planting, weeding and harvesting organic produce, maintaining pastures, seed-saving, working at the farmer’s markets, selling pasture-raised chicken, and maintaining fences and ditch systems. You will have the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the systems at work in a regenerative farm while learning about agroecology, holistic pasture management, ecological design, bioregional food systems, and what it means to be a steward and a part of a land-based community. We’re looking for someone who can wear many hats, enjoys wearing many hats, is thirsty for success, passionate about bioregional food production, and is self-motivated with a big heart.
This is a full one-year commitment. On-farm housing is provided, and stipend is $130/week.
