Residential Driver

Our mission at CompostNow is to grow the composting movement by making it easy for our members to divert food waste and enrich soils. By hauling food scraps and delivering compost, we do the dirty work for them and ensure success. To build the movement, it is imperative to keep our members happy and ensure they’re receiving exceptional value from our commercial and residential services.

Responsibilities

At the core of our service is providing clean and lined pails to our members every week while making every interaction a delight for members. As a Route Wrangler and Soil Slinger (i.e. Driver) you prepare bins for delivery, maneuver your designated route, document details of individuals stops (logging route data) and handle the collection process. At basic, servicing each member stop involves:

• Managing member stops through our Admin (Wrangler) Dashboard (on iPad)
• Delivering clean lined pail(s)
• Weighing & recording collected pail(s)
• Delivering pails of compost back to members (as requested)
• Delivering boxes of compostable products (cups, plates, silverware, etc.) to our commercial customers

Your job duties may also include:

• Emptying residential pails office bins and roll carts containing compostable material
• Sorting through commercial roll carts containing compostable materials to remove contamination (i.e. anything that can’t be composted)
• Helping to thoroughly clean pails, pail lids, office bins and roll carts (i.e. washing, soaping, rinsing)
• Preparing compost for delivery back to members
• Cleaning work vehicle's (interior and exterior) when needed
• Maintaining a neat and tidy work environment for storage of operations materials

About You

• Clean driving record and comfortable maneuvering large vehicle
• Strong commitment to safety of self and others
• Love of exceptional customer service, and a natural sense of hustle
• Strong desire to work with your head AND your hands
• Able to lift 50 pounds above your head
• Willing and able to work outdoors in all elements (rain, heat, cold, etc.)
• Detail oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, multitask, problem solve, and react quickly to changing conditions
• Committed to communicating regularly and constructively with team members
• Experience driving commercial vehicles or work vans a plus
