Kings County Distillery is New York City’s oldest, largest, and premier whiskey distillery, the first since prohibition. Founded in 2010, Kings County makes handmade moonshine, bourbon, and other whiskeys out of the 119-year-old Paymaster Building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.  We use New York grain and traditional distilling equipment to make distinctive spirits.  Kings County’s whiskeys have won numerous awards from the American Distilling Institute, the American Craft Spirits Association, and the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and have been praised by the New York Times, Wine & Spirits Magazine, GQ, The New Yorker and other sources. Kings County’s whiskeys are mashed, fermented, distilled, and aged onsite in Brooklyn and never sourced from other producers.

Job description
Kings County Distillery is looking for a passionate salesperson with an interest in whiskey to represent the distillery as a full-time Sales Associate for off- and on-premise accounts in New York State (focusing north of NYC).

Start Date: June 2019
Position: New York Sales Manager
 
Responsibilities:
The New York Sales Manager will be an ambassador for and interpreter of Kings County Distillery's whiskey portfolio in New York State (with a focus on Westchester, Dutchess, and Columbia Counties). In general, the Sales Manager will engage sales managers, retail staff, bar managers, bartenders, industry leaders, and customers to build strong relationships and establish awareness for Kings County Distillery's portfolio of creative and award-winning whiskeys. The position will require direct sales and sales support such as in-store tastings, staff trainings, and coordinating distillery visits for key accounts. Our Sales Associates are expected to achieve specific monthly sales targets and goals in collaboration with the NYC Sales Team by thinking strategically. 
 
The ideal candidate for this position:
  • Must live in the Greater New York City area and have a vehicle 
  • Must have at least 1 year industry experience, and be well versed in craft spirits or the beverage industry
  • Be extremely personable, outgoing, organized, creative, and highly motivated
  • Be able to excel at working independently in general, and available to attend a weekly meeting 
Our accepted Sales Manager will begin at Kings County Distillery for a training about the brand and responsibilities with our NYC Sales Manager. 
 
Compensation: Salary + commission based position with performance-based bonuses.
