The Savanna Institute invites applications for one or more Communication Specialists. We seek applicants who share our passion for restorative and resilient agricultural practices, with a preference for applicants who bring experience in communications broadly, with specific skills and experience in one or more of the following: graphic design, video production, web development, written communications, webinar & podcast production, organizing educational events, and contracting media production. This position will work closely with academic, non-profit, and farmer collaborators. This is a new position that will report to the co-Executive Directors.
 

Job Description

Hours: Full-time preferred, or multiple part-time

Location: Work-from-home, flexible location within Midwest. Occasional reimbursed travel.  

Start Date: August 1, 2019, flexible

Rate of Pay: Commensurate with experience

 

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A portfolio of educational media or equivalent  
  • Experience in collaborative initiatives
  • Fluency in agriculture and conservation
  • Software proficiency in one or more of: Adobe suite; Wordpress; Google suite; Mailchimp; and PHP, SQL, and Python for web development
