JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY:

Good Culture is looking for a creative, forward-thinking, R&D Lead to drive formulation strategy and development on product innovations and renovations. This role will support of our growing product portfolio and our commitment to crafting healing products made with real food and simple ingredients. She/he should be nimble, adaptive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multitask and take risks. This role will be part of a cross-functional team, with daily interactions with Commercialization/Operations, Marketing, and Sales departments.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to own full R&D process from inception, through testing, scale-up and manufacturing in order to support our 3rd party partners and create efficiencies
  • Ability to vet and source ingredient suppliers while cultivating meaningful relationships
  • Organize, maintain, and own all current and future ingredients lists, nutritional panels, efficacy testing (probiotics), product claim support.
  • Coordinate and oversee 3rd party development activities, by providing technical leadership and accountability for delivering products in accordance to established timelines and ingredient requirements
  • Act as the liaison for communication on reformulation processes between Operations, Sales, Marketing, Commercialization and 3rd party partners
  • Leverage in-depth experience managing development from inception, through testing, scale-up and manufacturing in order to support our 3rd party partners and create efficiencies
  • Utilize understanding of raw material sourcing, costs and lead-times to keep the pulse on value engineering opportunities
  • Audit and provide assessment of 3rd party labs and manufacturing facilities on capabilities, quality and reliability

 

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College graduate, Food Science degree preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills; Detailed oriented
  • Ability to prioritize work and to multi-task while working on deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Excel, and Project
    • (strong Excel and Project skills required)
  • 3+ years dairy R&D experience required; cultured dairy experience preferred
  • Team player, driven, results oriented, customer focused
  • Follows through on commitments, accountable, self-motivated, strong initiative/drive
  • The ability to wear many hats
  • Enjoys the opportunity to learn and try new things
