About Our Company: Founded in 2012 by a food systems professor from the Midwest and a fisherman from Sitka, Sitka Salmon Shares is one of the nation’s largest and fastest growing Community Supported Fisheries (CSF). Modeled similarly to Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), we provide high quality, traceable seafood to thousands of consumers in the Midwest and beyond. We source seafood from our network of fishermen-owners in Sitka, Alaska, as well as through partnerships with small-scale fishermen in other parts of Alaska. In the Midwest, our seafood is distributed from our Galesburg headquarters through regional hubs in Chicago, Madison, and Minneapolis as well as shipped via FedEx. Our Company is built on the values of supporting small-boat, family fishermen in Alaska, and cultivating healthy and sustainable food systems in the places we live, work, fish, and play. 

About The Position: The CSF Director will play a lead role in ensuring an unparalleled customer experience for the Company’s 9,000 and growing members (projected 2019) who receive monthly deliveries of seafood to their doorstep. This effective and detail-oriented leader will oversee the Company’s fulfillment, customer service, and distribution functions which includes a combination of people, technology systems, and equipment necessary to successfully get values-based seafood onto the plates of fish-lovers around the Midwest.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Develop, oversee, and report on Company goals, key performance indicators, and metrics related to achieving unparalleled customer service that satisfies and retains our CSF members. Cultivate robust knowledge of our membership and how to meet and exceed their desires. Possess an intimate understanding of the Company’s business model, values, and CSF share structure, and be able to communicate that to members and the Salmon Support (member services) team.
● Recruit, hire, orient, train, schedule, manage, and develop dynamic Salmon Support (member services) and distribution specialist (delivery drivers) teams of up to 10 people (full and part-time).
● Support an effective transition to, and ongoing utilization of, a new suite of order processing, fulfillment, customer service, and distribution tools and software.
● Oversee related customer service functions including prompt and robust responses to customer emails and phone messages.
● Oversee data entry and quality control of data to make sure tasks are completed in a timely and precise manner. Maintain the accuracy of order and customer data across order management systems.
● Maintain member satisfaction by providing problem-solving resources to all employees who provide customer service to our members.
● Work closely with warehouse and supply chain team to ensure on-time delivery of CSF shares that meets quality and customer service standards by managing and providing remote support to drivers (sometimes after hours), ensuring proper maintenance and functioning of the Company fleet of vehicles, serving as a liaison with FedEx, and engaging in proactive as well as on-the-fly problem solving.
● Develop and distribute member surveys and create other tools to monitor and report on member satisfaction. Work with leadership team to develop and execute appropriate response strategies.
● Create and continually improve member service tools, procedures, policies, and templates.
● Work with company leadership to create and provide oversight of yearly department budget goals.
● Occasional travel required

DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
● Demonstrated experience as a highly effective leader of teams of 5 or more people in fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and dynamic environments.
● At least 5 years’ experience in customer service, sales or logistics-related field. ● Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
● Willingness to work flexible hours with tight deadlines, and in a quickly changing environment.
● Passion for local food and sustainability; desire to learn more about fisheries and seafood.
● Self-starter, natural problem solver, with a positive attitude and ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
● A high level of integrity, accuracy, and dependability.
● Excellent organizational and communication skills.
● Willingness to learn all aspects of small business to help Sitka Salmon Shares grow and prosper.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with particular focus on Excel.
● A background in human resources a plus.

JOB SCOPE AND COMPENSATION:
● Full-time position with some overtime needed in peak CSF delivery season (May-October).
● Pay range starts at $60k and is dependent on experience and skill set.
● Yearly reviews will be done to assess position and pay. There is a 3 month probationary period.
