When we originally started Undercover Chocolate Co., our goal was to make decadent chocolate covered goodies for events, gifts and holidays. We quickly realized we shooing away our kids from the finished snacks. People would tell me us much they loved our chocolates, then take a little bite and try (as best they could) to resist over doing it.

 

We loved the chocolates we made too — but what we really crave is the satisfaction of just enough, absolutely delicious, premium chocolate, over something healthy, light and naturally good for you.

 

After two of our chocolate-obsessed daughters were diagnosed with celiac disease, we became determined to make this snackable treat gluten-free too.

We experimented with every ingredient we could find — and ultimately discovered the perfect combination…

Job description

Currently we are seeking a Regional Sales Manager to join our team and lead expansion further into the mainstream natural and conventional grocery channels.  Our ideal candidate will have significant energy, tenacity, passion for food, and experience in the CPG space with direct sales as well as working with, and development of, a broker network.

With unrivaled product quality, independence, and our tremendous capacity, we need the right partner who is a self-starter, has a passion for growing brands, and has a demonstrated ability to grow breadth and depth of distribution as well as velocity.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of regional accounts, in partnership with headquarters
  • Partner with our retailers to drive growth for them with customized plans based on their needs
  • Day-to-day coordination and presentations with buyers, distributors, and brokers to ensure all plans are communicated on time and executed in full and relationships are maintained
  • Adaptation of centralized trade materials and data to fit assigned accounts
  • Creation, execution, and tracking of promotional plans within regional budget
  • Forecasts by account and item and partnership with operations to ensure high customer service
  • Optimization of product mix, planogram locations, and secondary placement by account
  • Analysis of brand, product, price, merchandising, promotion and service performance for assigned accounts and recommendations for improved growth
  • Competitive and marketplace monitoring and intelligence
  • Oversight of 3rd party merchandisers as applicable
  • Closing of out-of-stock and void gaps for authorized items
  • Order and authorizations execution
  • Deduction/chargeback management in partnership with finance
  • Support of regional field and shopper marketing promotions in coordination with headquarters

Requirements

  • BA/BS
  • 3-7 years sales experience in CPG, preferably with some food and/or emerging brand experience
  • Aptitude using Microsoft Office suite, SPINs and IRI
  • Strong forecasting, budgeting and analytical ability
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • Attention to detail and a proactive mindset
  • Location flexible but would preferably live near an airport
  • Report to Executive Director, Sales & Marketing
  • Willingness to work remotely and travel up to 40%
