Curio Spice Co. is a woman-owned benefit corporation dedicated to finding unique, organic spices around the world, sourcing them responsibly and bringing them together in artful blends. We operate a brick and mortar store and kitchen in Cambridge, MA where we sell pure spices, house spice blends, and spice accessories as well as teach classes and hold events.  We aim to create an intense sensory and educational experience for people who visit our shop and to bring them closer to the communities of farmers around the world who cultivate these flavors.  Our products are sold online, directly to restaurants, at farmers’ markets, and through other retail stores across North America.

We are looking for a part-time operations assistant! This position is for back-of-house seasonal help (Sept-Dec 2019, 24-30 hrs/week) at our shop in Cambridge. We're looking for someone who is energetic and passionate about food & spices with excellent organization skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job duties of the Operations Assistant will include:

• Assisting with Order Fulfillment
  • Processing, packing, and shipping online orders for retail and wholesale customers
  • Assist with assembly/packing of corporate orders
  • Coordinating postage pickups and drop-offs
• Assisting with managing Curio’s wholesale program for retailers and chefs
• Assisting with Inventory & Operations
  • Assist Operations Manager with receiving shipments and evaluating retail prices
  • Take inventory of shipping and office supplies and submit POs as needed 
• Retail Support
  • Support front-of-house staff as needed during busy shop times (customer assistance, checkout, gift wrap)
  • Perform general shop maintenance as required (cleaning, organizing, etc.)

Availability to work Saturday and/or Sundays is a must as is being able to stand for up to 8 hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and be flexible with a variety of tasks.
