 We are now looking to expand beyond our original roots starting with 4 new state-of-the-art cheese aging caves that are part of a larger food complex that includes a bakery that will enable us to combine the finest quality cheeses with equally delicious breads and desserts sold through  At this location right at the base of the Adirondacks in nearby Utica, NY (a food-lovers town for decades before ‘the new foodie renaissance’!) Artisanal is developing the first of several planned regional distribution hubs to support a growing e-commerce business. We already ship to all states and we plan to do so much more to make Artisanal a special company for our loyal customers, our passionate team that makes it all happen and our shareholders.  And, with a plan to make our best team players shareholders too.

The New Employment Opportunity 


Title:                General Manager

Status:                         Full-Time

Start:               Late August

Location:         Utica, NY (40 miles east of Syracuse, NY)


This position requires hands-on oversight over our entire cheese operation, including:

  • Maintaining affinage and cave management protocols
  • Cheese procurement and logistics  
  • Guide and offer hands-on support over cut & wrap production for all wholesale and online orders and the on-site Artisanal Cheese Center store
  • Maintaining a food safe work environment 


Experience Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of experience in the cheese industry
  • 5 years of experience in working in affinage
  • Demonstrated work history supervising personnel
  • Relationships in the industry to foster on-going work with cheese producers


Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but knowledge of the craft of affinage and relevant industry experience is foremost
  • American Cheese Society Certification, preferred
