Under its visionary founder, Chef Terrance Brennan, the Artisanal Premium Cheese business was the 1st of its kind to establish cheese aging caves in the United States and undertake the careful work of Affinage – to offer our customers the finest quality artisan, handcrafted cheeses aged to perfection and you can Taste the Difference.

 

We are now looking to expand beyond our original roots starting with 4 new state-of-the-art cheese aging caves that are part of a larger food complex that includes a bakery that will enable us to combine the finest quality cheeses with equally delicious breads and desserts sold through www.artisanalcheese.com.  At this location right at the base of the Adirondacks in nearby Utica, NY (a food-lovers town for decades before ‘the new foodie renaissance’!) Artisanal is developing the first of several planned regional distribution hubs to support a growing e-commerce business. We already ship to all states and we plan to do so much more to make Artisanal a special company for our loyal customers, our passionate team that makes it all happen and our shareholders.  And, with a plan to make our best team players shareholders too.    

 

Job description

The New Employment Opportunity 

 

Title:                Operations Associate

Status:                         Full-Time

Start:               Late August

Location:         Utica, NY (40 miles east of Syracuse, NY)

 

This position requires:

• Working in cheese caves to maintain the highest quality of cheese
• Cutting and wrapping of cheese for all wholesale and online orders and the on-site Artisanal Cheese Center store and support for our Cafe
• Close communication with customer service
• Maintaining a food safe work environment 

 

Experience Requirements:

• At least 4 years of experience in the food industry, preferably in cheese
• Demonstrated reliability and ability to work nights and weekends when necessary

 

Educational Requirements:

• Associates degree or higher is preferred
• Experience working with premium food products in a restaurant, supermarket, or specialty food store
• American Cheese Society Certification, preferred
