SUMMARY

The Wholesale Sales Account Manager is passionate about local and regional food systems, loves meat, loves building strong relationships with their customers, and loves closing sales. Both a Sales and a Customer Support role, the Account Manager must be able to communicate the most exciting thing about a new product as well as problem solve with a customer should an order be fulfilled incorrectly. An excellent communicator and effectively able to manage dynamic circumstances, the Account Manager is a team player who will do whatever it takes to ensure smooth communications and happy customers. This position is based at the Marin Sun Farms headquarters in Petaluma, but the Account Manager is expected to visit existing and prospective customers out in the field.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prospecting to build new business
  • Effectively manage a sales pipeline in Salesforce.com from prospect to close
  • Enthusiastically represent Marin Sun Farms out in the greater community
  • Understand the complexities of whole-animal meat sales and work to ensure throughput of all products
  • Perform daily sales activities, including sales calls, emails, texts, and in-person meetings
  • Manage and track a high volume of communications on a daily basis
  • Follow internal SOPs to ensure smooth intra-company operations
  • Upsell existing customers, encouraging them to try new products, and to purchase more of their existing products
  • Meet and exceed weekly sales quota

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Salesforce, Microsoft Office required
  • Experience in the meat industry, knowledge of meat cuts or a willingness to learn
  • Comfortable selling over the phone and in person
  • Passion for the Marin Sun Farms mission and product line
  • Effective communicator and negotiator
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Team player, positive attitude
  • Keen attention to detail, record-keeping
  • Available to work all hours as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • Willingness to continue to learn new skills required to be successful
