Cheese and Beer Monger Malt and Mold
- Date Posted August 23, 2019
- Location New York, NY
- Category Culinary
- Job type Part-Time
We are seeking to fill two positions - one with relative beer or cheese experience and one in which relative experience isn't necessary (although certainly welcome). We will be filling the Experienced position first, so if you don't have experience please be patient if we don't respond immediately to your resume.
Malt and Mold seeks a passionate, energetic part time monger with experience in either beer or cheese (preferably both, but we hope not to appear greedy), who would like to utilize her or his current knowledge and who has a driving desire to become expert in both sides of the business as well.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
We are looking for self-motivated people who want to learn and want to be involved in the ever burgeoning artisanal food and craft beer scene happening right now.
We are growing and expanding. We are happy to teach what we know on the Business Management side too. For the motivated and curious, we will show you everything you need to know to open your own specialty food shop.
We can offer a role that is just for now or a true career opportunity depending on what you are looking to get out of the work you put in.
Customer Relations (the fun stuff):
- Working a cheese counter
- Pouring growlers and pints of beer
- Guiding customers through various artisanal sundries
Inventory Management (um, the perhaps not so fun stuff):
- Keeping the cheese case at optimal presentation
- Stocking shelves
- Tapping kegs (and moving empties around)
- Entering items into inventory management database
