Warren Wilson College seeks applicants for a Farm Manager. This position manages and directs daily operations for the College's 275-acre Farm, a diverse mixed crop and livestock operation. This individual in this role supervises one professional Assistant Manager and the 25-person student work crew, coordinates the farm’s educational functions, manages the budget, and maintains Farm equipment and infrastructure. In consultation with the Dean of Land Resources, the Farm Manager directs production planning and business management of the Farm. 

Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree preferred. Bachelor’s degree is required as a minimum, preferably with advanced coursework in plant, animal, and/or soil sciences.
  • Minimum five years of experience in the management of diverse crop and livestock farms in advanced educational settings. Strong skills required in the safe operation and repair of farm equipment, and the ability to teach.
  • Required to live within a 20-minute drive of campus.
  • Knowledge as an educator with commitment and demonstrated ability to work with students and encourage active participation.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
