ABOUT US:

Our Daily Bread is a small, artisanal, family owned and operated bakery in New York’s Hudson Valley.   The Gluten Free Bakery, a dedicated baking space, was our answer to customers seeking healthy, artisanal quality baked goods without a trace of gluten.  We are certified gluten free and kosher, and we are committed to making the highest quality hand-baked goods. We obtain our starting materials from a variety of reliable, gluten free sources, using whole grain flours, many organic, non-GMO, local and regional ingredients. 

 

ORIGINS:

In 1977, we started as Our Daily Bread Bakery - making traditional, artisan hearth loaves in the European style.  In 2011, we opened The Gluten Free Bakery to meet the increasing demand of many customers seeking healthy alternatives and hungry for fresh gluten free products.  We hired our artisan head baker Tim,  who dedicated months to creating a gluten free bread line we loved using basic ingredients and techniques adopted from a lifetime steeped in old world baking traditions.   The result: uncompromising gluten-free breads and pastries, never settling for "good enough for gluten-free”, everything we bake, we make to be, simply, good.  We work every day to ensure that we deliver fresh and delicious loaves to everyone eating a healthy, gluten free diet.

Job description Join our team of Gluten Free Bakers in producing the region's best, freshest gluten free breads.  Our breads our hand-made daily.  The bakery work is pleasant, but physically demanding.  You'll work alongside our head baker, gaining essential baking skills as you train to work independently. Pay increases with experience.  Lunch is offered from our Cafe or Deli down the street.  

Required Hours (some flexibility allowed)
Mon-Wed: 8am-4pm
Thursday: 12pm-6pm
Saturday: 8am-3pm

Job Requirements:
*Ability to lift 50lb bags of flour
*Read recipe sheets and mix and weigh recipes accurately
*Be able to stand for the bulk of the shift
*Physical capability required for bakery production work. 

Pay is competitive-  based on experience and how quickly you can learn and become independent. Compensation this position is : hourly, $15/hr + Application instructions
