The District Manager is a full-time position. The person in this role will be an integral part of the retail management team at Ovenly. S/he will primarily lead day-to-day management of teams, operations of stores including overseeing management of orders and inventory, delivery operations, and staff training, hiring/firing, and promotions.
This position requires close attention to detail, creativity, and quick problem-solving skills and willingness to travel between retail location.
We are looking for a proactive go-getter who is motivated, dependable, and energetic and who wants to grow with us. This is an ideal position for someone who is passionate about food (baked goods especially!) and coffee. The person in this position will be managing multiple retail locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
People
Manages staff
Interviews, hires, and fires as needed
Implements roadmap for success for staff
Operations, Sales, and Administration
Oversees basic operations
Oversees and manages budgets
With retail director, develops high-level community engagement plans
Implements sales strategies and develops new ones
Ensures in-store marketing campaigns are communicated and implemented
Increases sales and exceeds stores sales goals
Assists senior retail leads in the creation of sales reports
Ensures leads keep stores up to DOH code
Oversees coordination of logistics and product/inventory ordering and reporting
Resolves patron complaints and concerns
Proactively anticipates and remedies training, staffing, and customer issues
Revises systems and improves efficiencies
Manages in-store quality control and systems
Oversees the maintenance of bakeshop cleanliness
Updates technologies and increases efficiency through them
Suggests and implements efficiencies
Analyze sales and products to identify/implement business opportunities
Training and leadership
Trains/retrains staff, and updates staff training guides
Coaches in the moment when necessary
Embodies Ovenly values, demonstrates quality service, and promotes bottom-up management models
Attends, develops, and co-leads quarterly retail staff meetings
Attends and executes in-store events when necessary
Ensures customer service standards are held to the highest level possible
Improves and update current cafe processes and procedures
Liaises with all departments
Helps the team to stay connected to the heart of the work and find ways to continually improve it
With Retail Director, develops training plans, including train the trainers
Develops pathways for promotions for retail staff
Other Duties
Participates in all-staff events and meetings
All other duties as assigned
Requirements
Timeliness and punctuality
Flexibility in scheduling hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Fluent in English both written and spoken
Attention to detail, ambitious, goal oriented and self-starting
Ability to provide proof of authorization to work in the US
Must have or obtain NYC Food Handler’s license
4+ years managerial experience in a hospitality, training, and/or retail environment
Comfortable using technology for sales and work, especially Google for Business
