Job description

Title of Position:  Faculty and Curriculum Coordinator--  Hospitality Management

Salary:  $42,453- $54,900 (per MCCC contract) with benefits

Effective:  January 2020

Position Overview:  Provide classroom instruction in Hospitality, Hospitality Management, and Culinary Arts fields to students seeking associate and certificate degrees. Faculty typically teach 15 credit hours per semester and perform advising, college service, and professional development activities.

The successful applicant will be given reassigned time, per the MCCC Bargaining Agreement, which will reduce the instructional workload, including: the development and supervision of credit and non-credit programming in the Hospitality and Culinary Arts areas; development of reports for external audiences; planning and facilitating responses to external advisory committees; writing program reviews; reviewing curriculum for currency; recommending part-time faculty; supervising department staff; exercising leadership in grant writing; and securing external funds for program development and implementation. 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related fields. Master’s preferred.  Recent industry experience in Hospitality Field.  Teaching Experience required. Community college teaching experience preferred. Commitment to student-centered, outcomes-based education with skillful incorporation of multiple instructional strategies and technologies as appropriate is expected.
