Kinderhook Farm is a diversified livestock operation located in the Hudson Valley. We raise grassfed cattle, grassfed sheep, and pastured poultry and pigs which are marketed as whole carcasses to butchers / restaurants and also as retail cuts direct to consumers through our farm store.

We are looking for a full time employee to help us with all aspects of the operation, including but not limited to livestock chores, maintenance of fencing and water systems, construction projects, cleaning/ landscaping, loading/ unloading... sometimes the work is extremely physically demanding or repetitive but it is hardly ever mindless if you are interested in the total picture. Experience with tractors/equipment helpful, but not necessary. Likewise, livestock handling experience helpful but not necessary. 

We seek a strong self-motivated individual who is reliable, responsible and ready to work,

hopefully with an appreciation for working all seasons outdoors in a pasture-based system with our diverse, strong-willed, eccentric and fun loving farm crew.

Other things not required but any of these would be a plus:

Observation skills and appreciation for environmental landscape cues

Ability to drive finicky old manual transmission trucks

Carpentry or construction skills

Butchery or cooking skills

Hunting skills

Enthusiasm for pork and beans, steak, fresh eggs
