Job descriptionWe are seeking a friendly, driven, and inspired leader to serve as our Interim Sales and Marketing Manager from November 2019 through May 2020, with the possibility of continued employment thereafter. Candidates must be available to start training in early November.
This position will be responsible for leading our sales team through our busiest sales months of the year and achieving our sales goals across 3 divisions: Online Retail, Wholesale and Events.
The responsibilities of this position include:
- Providing leadership and supervision for the sales and customer service team;
- Managing relationships with our 300+ wholesale customers and leading campaigns to approach new customers;
- Overseeing our digital content, including our website and our social media presence;
- Managing our digital advertising campaigns;
- Supporting customer service tasks and mailings; and
- Covering the responsibilities of all sales and customer service team positions when other employees are absent.
The ideal candidate:
- Has 3+ years’ experience in a management-level sales or marketing position
- Is a good leader with a personable disposition and a zeal for mission-based commerce;
- Excels at building customer relationships on the phone and through email;
- Drives to achieve goals and get real results;
- Enjoys problem solving and thrives in a fast-paced environment operating at its busiest time of year;
- Learns quickly and adept at toggling among multiple responsibilities;
- Is comfortable making data-based decisions and working with spreadsheets and databases; and
- Is skilled at supervising a small team of employees.
Additionally, the following skills are excellent additions to an application:
- Familiarity with social media marketing;
- Experience with paid advertising via search engines and social media networks;
- Experience with the Adobe suite of design software;
- Comfort with e-commerce back-end software; and
- A background that includes gardening or agriculture experience.
