Job description

Bona Furtuna Area Sales Representative is responsible for growing the brand presence via target channels to retailers and foodservice businesses to achieve sustained market penetration. The Sales Director is to be diligent in their approach to market introduction, while developing strategic partnerships with new customer accounts. The ideal candidate will build effective and lasting relationships with buyers, assist in sales planning, forecasting, and execution. This position will oversee brand placement, retail execution, and help coordinate company promotions. Sales Director will work closely with purchasing to understand inventory supply, market potential, and category growth.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Assist in development and oversee implementation of annual sales plan.
  • Grow business and sales with current key accounts; understand better the needs of these clients to grow these partnerships.
  • Target new retail and foodservice accounts to procure strategic customer accounts.
  • Travel likely to include 35-50% of total working time.
  • Identify and procure key brokers and distributers to assist in broadening the market and manage these accounts.
  • Provide sales and expense budget forecast; monitor actual performance vs. budget, adjusting the plan as needed to reach company sales and profit objectives. 
  • Establish, lead, and communicate a monthly volume and distribution plan.
  • Assist in coordinating sales events and regional distributor shows as necessary; work with Bona Furtuna team to execute shows accordingly. Attend trade shows and expos as requested, assist with coordination of booth set up/tear down. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2+ Years experience in specialty food and natural grocery industry.
  • 2+ Years experience in sales management.
  • Proficiency in sales forecasting and expense budgeting.
  • Flexibility to travel (35-50% of time)
  • Analysis of sales data
  • Passion for organic, artisan food, and sustainable agriculture.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) and other operating platforms.
  • Ability to work well as a self-motivated individual in a growing company.
