 The Senior Sales + Purchasing Manager is responsible for growing our current customer and vendor account relationships and building new accounts.  Additionally, this individual manages the design and procurement of branded packaging, creates retail and food service programs and promotions, monitors sales goals, and analyzes all sales and purchasing accounts.  Qualified candidates must be a great communicator who is detail-oriented, a self-starter, passionate about selling, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.  Leading an essential department, they must be a natural problem-solver who feeds off of variety and always remains cool under pressure. This position requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience in produce industry sales.
 

Main Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Develop and direct sales programs, including goals, budgets and strategies
  • Drive sales and relationships with existing and new accounts, locally and nationally
  • Lead process of forecasting availability and sales trends
  • Work with buyer(s) on our team to create quarterly and annual production plan
  • Monitor industry crop data for volume and pricing
  • Host customer visits to warehouse and farms 
  • Participate in national sales calls, account visits and trade shows
  • Manage team members to perform food service outreach locally
  • Increase delivery route profitability
  • Drive retail sales with in-store demonstrations and marketing support
  • Collaborate with retail accounts to design merchandising plan-o-grams
  • Create and manage new product lines, packaging and labels
  • Create and manage incentive programs for department
  • Maintain a strong sense of teamwork, commitment to supporting farmers and other core values
  • Actively contributes solutions and new ideas
  • This position is required to be based out of office in Durham, NC



 

Compensation this position is : salaried, varies DOE, $45,000.00 - $75,000.00 Application instructions
