Since 2005 Julie’s Coffee & Tea Garden has been committed to nourishing the communities of Alameda and Oakland, body and spirit. Julie’s is a multi- award winning cafe specializing in organic coffee, loose-leaf herbs & tea, and healthy eats. We offer garden patio seating, community events, art exhibits, wellness workshops and more.

We take pride in our team of inspired and knowledgeable staff members and we strive for consistent high quality products created with efficiency and passion.

In the past 5 years we’ve expanded our food menu to include wholesome and unique offerings, many of which are geared toward those with food allergies and diet preferences. (eg: vegan, gluten-free, grain-free, sugar-free, etc.) We have experienced tremendous response from our community and continue to expand this area of our business.

We are now expanding into a new location in Oakland where we will have the opportunity to further explore the nourishing food component of what we do. We are looking for the right person to join us in this new venture.

Job description Baking Assistant:
-Have 2+ year experience working in a fast-paced kitchen
-Hold an understanding of fundamental pastry methods
-Able to work independently
-Able to take direction and follow recipes with precision
-Works with a sense of urgency
-Current California food handler's card or Servesafe
-Team player attitude

General requirements for all staff
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Flexible work schedule, weekends required
- Work a minimum of 3 shifts/week
- Must be self motivated and able to work quickly on your feet for up to 8 hours
