The Good Food Institute (GFI) is at the forefront of the movement to use food technology and markets to solve some of the world’s biggest problems, from climate change and global hunger to antibiotic resistance and the exploitation of billions of animals annually.

How You Will Make a Difference
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage GFI’s website day-to-day while shepherding a range of projects to enhance its design and functionality. The Web Project Lead will be responsible for:

  • Guiding our website projects through the lifecycle from the proposal, to technical work up, to delivery.
  • Participating in website project conception meetings to ensure the user experience is appropriately incorporated.
  • Overseeing the design, development, and implementation of a website migration from an in-house platform to Wordpress.
  • Liaising between the Communications team, internal and external web developers, and other teams across GFI to ensure that the website's features, functionality, and content meet all gathered requirements.
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for scheduling and managing web design and development projects.
  • Troubleshooting problems with the function, development, integration, and go-live of any website components.
  • Generating periodic project status reports on data, tasks, and processes for presentation to departments.
  • Supporting the Communications team in reporting on key website and digital metrics.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Who We’re Looking For
The Web Project Lead must have:

  • At least two years of project management experience working on digital products and services.
  • At least two years of Wordpress content publishing experience and two years of UX evaluation and design experience.
  • Experience with web technologies, including markup languages and scripting.
  • A thorough understanding of web development and design processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work well independently and under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Comfort working remotely and in a rapidly growing and evolving organization.
  • Strong support for GFI’s philosophy and mission; demonstrated interest in public health, environmentalism, animal protection, or hunger relief.

The ideal candidate would also have:

  • Some knowledge of Google Analytics and Tag Manager.
  • Some knowledge of PHP.
  • Some knowledge of HTML/CSS/Javascript.
  • Some knowledge of MySQL.
  • Some knowledge of Salesforce, Pardot, Asana.
  • Basic comfort with Linux command line.

The Fine Print

  • Terms of employment: Full-time, exempt
  • Reports to: Annie Cull, Director of Communications
  • Location: Remote; United States
  • Travel: Up to two weeks per year for company retreats.
