Rock Steady Farm & Flowers is a for-profit farm located in Millerton, NY -- a rural and active community few hours north of NYC, close to the MA and CT borders. We use holistic farming practices that allow us to grow high quality vegetables, professional cut flowers, and herbs for a diverse array of market outlets. We manage a total of 11 acres- 2 in flowers, 6+ in veggies, and 2+ acres of rotational cover crop. We have diversified customers including our 275+ person CSA, floral designers, markets, restaurants, food pantries, social justice non-profits, and design for special events in the Hudson Valley and New York City. Our farm is grounded in close partnerships with other land based projects, neighbors, and non-profits who are also working to build equity in our region and beyond. We are a growing cooperatively-owned farm, with opportunities for equity for staff members after a trial period. Our current staff and returning crew are women, queer and people of color. Skills and qualifications:

• At least 1 year farming experience farming at 3 acres or more
• Clean driver’s license and reliable transportation for commuting to farm
• Must be self-motivated and able to work outside in ALL weather conditions including snow, rain, high temps.
• Endurance sport experience, athleticism, team camaraderie as well as a healthy amount of competitive spirit.
• Comfortably able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
• Strong manual dexterity skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and willingness to seek guidance as needed
• Clear communication skills and demonstrated ability to be flexible with daily tasks.
• Demonstrated commitment to organic, just, and sustainable farming standards.

Schedule, Compensation, Housing

• This is a seasonal position, 40-45 hours a week, from the beginning of April through November 1st. Compensation is $13/hr, plus veggies and flowers. 5 paid vacation days, 2 paid sick days. We are unable to provide on-farm housing, but can connect people to local rentals.
