Company description At Happy Valley Meat Company, we believe that the industrial food system is bad for people, animals, and the environment. In order to solve this problem, we are building an alternative source for meat; meat that is ethically raised, traceable, and sustainable. Since 2013, Happy Valley has formed a network with over 15 independent farms and 4 slaughterhouses throughout the states of Pennsylvania and New York. Job Description
To further our mission, to better the lives of the people and animals that feed us, we are looking for someone who loves food, animals, farming and eating to join our team and to support our team in communication, team efficiency and cultivate our company’s culture. This person needs to be honest, communicative, organized, outgoing, self-starting and passionate about better meat.


Qualifications

You will:

  • Own company culture and track office mood to ensure a pleasurable work experience
  • Plan and help coordinate quarterly vision meetings
  • Coordinate office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies
  • Help track fedex deliveries and general operational tasks
  • Assist the sales team in putting in orders and customer upkeep
  • Manage phone calls and correspondence (email, letters, packages etc.)
  • Support budgeting and bookkeeping procedures
  • Create and update records and databases with personnel, financial and other data
  • Track stocks of office supplies and place orders when necessary
  • Submit timely reports and prepare presentations/proposals as assigned
  • Assist colleagues whenever necessary


You have:

  • A high emotional intelligence, required to keep a dynamic workplace positive and full of energy
  • A passion for sustainable meat, farming, food, and the best restaurants in New York
  • Strong familiarity using professional software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, Netsuite, etc.)
  • Good people and listening skills
  • Coachability. Interest in getting feedback and dedication to consistent improvement
  • Enthusiastic about working with a small team that wears many hats in order to grow
  • The innate ability to inspire passion in others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
