Food Education Program Coordinator Pie Ranch

  • Date Posted December 04, 2019
  • Location Pescadero, CA
  • Category Education / Nonprofit
  • Job type Full-Time
Company description

Pie Ranch is a unique food system education and advocacy non-profit organization, and a diversified sustainable farm on the San Mateo Coast, about 55 miles south of San Francisco. Our mission is to cultivate a healthy and just food system from seed to table through food education, farmer training, and regional partnerships. Our home near Pescadero, CA, in the ancestral homeland of the Amah Mutsun, includes two parcels, 27-acres in total. These neighboring pieces of land are each shaped like a slice of pie, and also grow the ingredients to make pie. In 2019 we began leasing 418-acres to the north at Cascade Ranch where we are building up a regenerator for new farmers and land-based businesses. For more information on the organization, see

Since 2005, Pie Ranch has worked with Bay Area youth around food & farming, providing repeat visits to Pie Ranch and engaging youth back in their classrooms & communities. Pie Ranch hosts fee-for-service visits with multiple schools in the Bay Area and receives grant funding to work more closely with three partner high schools, the La Honda/Pescadero School District in Pescadero, Oceana High School in Pacifica, and Mission High School in San Francisco.
