Job description

Purslane is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated salesperson to work with the sales team in growing our events revenue across multiple channels. This position will maintain existing relationships while focusing heavily on bringing in new clients across market segments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming inquiries
  • Lead cold outgoing calls
  • Generate leads, close contracts, and build sales revenue for events based on individual, segment, and team sales goals
  • Develop, nurture and grow relationships with existing and potential clients
  • Manage and issue reports on leads, revenue and other sales metrics for team
  • Participate in and develop brand and marketing outreach events including trade events and facetime with clients
  • Actively contribute to company marketing initiatives and maintain marketing materials
  • Work closely with event, operations, and culinary staff for all events
  • Work closely with clients to align to their budgets and needs while maximizing revenue
  • Contribute to menu development with Executive Chef and Operations counterparts
  • Champion and lead our mission to provide high quality food while eliminating waste and pushing sustainability through our entire value chain

Competencies/Experience:

  • 3+ years of event and/or catering specific sales experience with proven experience in growing and closing sales
  • Excellent in person, phone, and email communication skills
  • Motivated and confident in developing new business and expanding current business
  • Results driven
  • Team player with entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to work independently and self report on progress
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under pressure
  • Strong organization skills
  • Flexible and creative thinker with ability to find solutions
  • Knowledge of Tripleseat
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite required
