Job description Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery is a showcase for local farmers and food artisans. We buy from over 300 local producers to provide the community with a convenient and fun connection to those producers. We know every farm and every product has a story and we strive to tell the story while maintaining the high quality selection and competitive pricing. The Grocery Manager is an integral member of our team who oversees all the day-to-day operations of our grocery, ensuring we remain an appealing, high-quality option for our customers.

Primary Responsibilities:
● Responsible for the overall performance, efficiency and profitable operations of the entire Grocery store, including customer service and satisfaction, sales and budget, inventory management, visual merchandising, training and development.
● Responsible for department-related activities of the grocery store including fresh produce, frozen foods, dairy, dry goods, artisan and local products, meat, vitamins/supplements, and bulk foods.
● Manages and oversees the duties of a team of grocery assistant managers, buyers, leads, and grocery employees.
● Generates fun and excitement through personality and positive attitude to help ensure a good work environment and customer experience.
● Leads and trains grocery staff on customer service protocols such as: greetings, locating products, answering questions, educating about products, loading and unloading, taking customer requests and suggestions, etc.
● Manages profitability of departments and sub-departments in accordance with the approved budget, which includes, but not limited to: sales goals, cost of goods, labor and other expenses, price changes, fresh item shrink & waste management.
