Wholesale Coordinator/Flower Crew Front Porch Farm

  • Date Posted February 08, 2020
  • Location Healdsburg, CA
  • Category Agriculture
  • Job type Full-Time
Company description

Front Porch Farm is a 110-acre diverse organic farm situated on the Russian River just 10 minutes from downtown Healdsburg in Northern California. Each year we grow roughly 12 acres of vegetables and berries, 4 acres of cut flowers, 2 acres of Floriani flint corn, 15 acres of wine grapes, and maintain a plethora of fruit trees. At our neighboring property—Acorn Ranch—we also raise heritage lamb. With ecological farming principles at the heart of what we do, we strive to be responsible stewards of the land.

At Front Porch Farm the days are long and the tasks are strenuous, so we aim to build a team with a strong work ethic that supports each other in maintaining a positive & healthy working environment. We strive to find the delicate balance between working hard and having fun. Our community is bilingual and multicultural, and some of our farm’s core values are inclusivity and connection across these lines. We work 40-50 hours per week on the farm with occasional weekend responsibilities.

Job description

Nearly all year round we are pulling flowers from our fields and hoop houses—from the bulbs, sweet peas, and poppies in the early spring to the garden roses, tuberose, and chrysanthemums in the fall, with over 60 other varieties in between. We sell our flowers to dozens of local and Bay Area florists, to a selection of grocery stores, and direct-to-consumer through our Farmers’ Markets. We also use our flowers to do our own design work for weddings and other special events out of our on-farm design studio. We are proud to use organic growing practices, providing our customers with local flowers grown in accordance with nature and without the use of harmful chemicals.
