Company description Shop Made in DC (SMIDC) is a mission-driven retail initiative that serves as a platform for creativity -- enabling ideas, products and people to converge and drive traffic to neighborhoods while creating low-entry to market opportunities for DC-based makers and small retailers.  In 2017,  SMIDC launched their first space in Dupont dedicated to Made in DC producers with the support of DC Department of Small and Local Business Development, Golden Triangle BID and Boston Properties, as a means to activate the city’s MADE IN DC Program.   

Now with 3 main locations and a storelet, the spaces act as a retail incubator showcasing a selection of over 5000 MADE IN DC products including apothecary, apparel, art, furniture, jewelry, home decor and stationary from over 250 brands.   All spaces host weekly events that linking customers to makers through workshops, meet-ups and pop-ups for emerging brands.   As we grow our team, we seek individuals that believe in our mission and are invested in making our vision a reality. SALARY:  $40,00-$50,000

The Store  Manager is an integral member of our team who oversees all the day-to-day operations of our Convention Center location, ensuring we remain an appealing, high-quality option for our customers.


RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Organize all store operations and allocate responsibilities to personnel
+ Supervise and guide staff towards maximum performance
+ Generates fun and excitement through personality and positive attitude to help ensure a good work environment and customer experience.
+ Leads and trains staff on customer service protocols such as: greetings, locating products, answering questions, educating about products, loading and unloading, taking customer requests and suggestions, etc.
+ Control the store’s budget aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency
+ Monitor stock levels and purchases and ensure they stay within budget and freshness expirations
+ Organize and document monthly inventory
+ Keep store BOH supplies in stock and manage inventory
+ Deal with complaints from customers to maintain the store’s reputation
+ Inspect the areas in the store and resolve any issues that might arise
+ Complete nightly email recounting the day’s activities, including sales, issues and concerns, to leadership.
+ Keep abreast of convention center events and market trends to determine the need for improvements in the store
+ Analyze sales and revenue reports and work with leadership team to make forecasts
+ Ensure the store fulfills all legal health, safety and legal guidelines (holds Food Handler’s License)  Compensation this position is : salaried Application instructions
