Heron Pond Farm produces up to 50 acres of mixed vegetables in the southern Seacoast of New Hampshire. We are a four-season farm. We market our produce through our farm stand, farmers markets, CSA, and wholesale. Our wholesale produce is marketed through a farmer owned company that we helped create, the Three River Farmers Alliance.

Heron Pond Farm is located on the seacoast of New Hampshire within a short drive of the beach. We are 40 min north of Boston and 18 miles south of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The area is rich with activities outside the farm. We are also part of a strong farming network. Employees have the opportunity to interact with many others in the farming community.

Heron Pond Farm is seeking Harvest Crew Members for the 2020 season! We are looking for full-time (5 days-a-week), full season commitment (May-November.) We are especially looking for candidates who are available to work one weekend day and work a Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday schedule. There is a possibility for year-round work for the right candidate.

Job Duties include: 

• Harvesting a large variety of vegetable and berry crops 
• Washing/sorting/packing veggies for CSA, wholesale outlets and farmer’s markets
• Transplanting on the tractor mounted water wheel transplanter
• Limited hand weeding and hoeing 
• Occasional greenhouse work including transplanting, watering, moving trays and general maintenance

Qualifications:

• Farm experience is not a must! We are mainly looking for an individual with a good work ethic and positive attitude. 
• Interest in agriculture 
• Enjoy working outside in the lovely New England weather (oh you know, the sun, the rain, the cold, the heat, the bugs)
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
• Willingness to learn 
• Ability to take direction and have excellent attention to detail
• Enjoy working at a quick pace and have an interest in improving and learning new skills
• Promptness and accountability
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Good story teller a plus
