Position: HEAD BAKER


High End Downtown French Marketplace is in search of experienced Head Baker to bring his or her skills and expertise to our expanding team. The ideal candidate has studied culinary technique and has a experience managing other members of a back of house kitchen staff. The Head Baker will follow the recipes established by our Executive Chef, making sure that the baked goods produced are of the highest quality and that the kitchen is clean and compliant with all health regulations.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilize a variety of kitchen appliances and tools to produce baked goods to be sold in the Bakery Department of the marketplace
  • Delegate tasks to Prep Cooks and Line Cooks in the Bakery
  • Publishing the work schedule and handling time off requests and rate changes for your staff
  • Follow recipes given by Executive Chef for the myriad of breads
  • Monitor breads during the baking process as part of quality control
  • Ensure Department of Health regulations are being followed and that the kitchen is sanitary and safe to work in
  • Take direction from Executive Chef and Director of Operations in regards to production changes and ingredient ordering
  • Additional responsibilities as required by Back of House Management


Requirements:

  • At least 2 years experience working in a Bakery
  • Experience working in a French Bakery is preferred, but not required
  • Must have graduated from a Culinary Arts program
  • Must be available to work early in the morning
  • Need to be able to lift approximately 30-40 pounds
  • Able to stand for long period of time
  • Must have good communication skills in order to work efficiently with subordinate staff as well as upper level management
  • Strong work ethic and drive to produce the highest quality goods and keep overhead costs as low as possible

 

Compensation this position is : salaried, varies DOE, $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 Application instructions
