AmeriCorps Food Educators and School Farmers teach gardening and cooking classes to kids in schools across Whatcom County.  Food Educators may apply to serve at Common Threads' site in Bellingham, WA and/or at the site of our partners in other parts of WA state. Please only apply for the farmer position if you feel confident managing farm and garden spaces with  minimal support and offering agricultural peer support for the Food Educator team.
Common Threads is currently recruiting for a statewide team of 20 AmeriCorps Food Educators and School Farmers who will serve from August 24, 2020-August 14, 2021. AmeriCorps members receive a total stipend for the year of $15K (pre-tax), health insurance, food stamps (if eligible) and an end of service educational award of $6,095.
