Job description

Lead Baker at Calderwood Hall

We are seeking a lead baker from May through early October. We are looking for someone with a working knowledge of baking, the principles of baking and a love to create things.

You will be working and leading a small team of bakers to execute our already established bakery and lunch menus. The majority of our goods are made from scratch but not extremely technical in the bakery department. The job is fun and high energy but demands someone with an interest in baking, a strong work ethic and the ability to complete the daily numbers and routines for a busy bakery.

We seek a positive, upbeat individual who will be expected to be engaged and respectful with employees and customers alike. You must have the ability to oversee and give a small team direction, be able to think through the work day/prep lists and manage everyone’s time. As well, keep the bakery organized, clean and well stocked at all times.

This position is hourly and is four days a week in May, June and September and five days a week in July and August. Hours generally are 5:30am-1pm daily. From there you will have plenty of time to explore the island, ride a bike, sail, picnic, swim in the chilly Maine ocean, grab a beer at the brewery or fresh veggies at the farm stands around the island. We promise a fun island season!

Compensation this position is : hourly, $15-20/hr Application instructions
